Advanced Manufacturing Sector

Advanced Manufacturing is an important part of the Suffolk economy employing large numbers of people with many companies operating nationally and internationally.  It is a very diverse sector which relies heavily on employees who have a good foundation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The sector uses the latest technology, research and innovation to develop new products and processes, which often demand long-term investment to succeed.

Suffolk is well placed to take advantage of the growth of clean and low carbon technology markets through innovative developments in energy generation and it likely to see growth in this area.

It is possible to enter the sector via an Apprenticeship or as a graduate and Suffolk has many well-known companies operating locally, such as:
